  • Stronger Together.

    Mon 28 Feb 2022

Our Trust family of schools prides itself on great relationships with our local community, local businesses and local employers, colleges and universities. One of the most important relationships all our schools have is with the parents/carers of our young people. Each of our five schools has a Stronger Together (parents and carers forum) which meets regularly to help our school leaders develop their schools and lead curriculum innovation and enrichment, as well as site developments and exciting new initiatives.

Young people are most successful when the communication between home, school and the young person themselves is strong. Schools and families need to work together to support young people to be the very best version of themselves each and every day. Attendance in all our schools has been excellent this year and way above national averages. We thank all our families for working collaboratively with schools to ensure your child receives a first class education, coupled with great care, guidance and support. High attendance= High achievement. Please also take a look at our February edition of the Batley Buzz and read all about the great work undertaken this month across our family of wonderful schools. So many exciting activities have been taking place to inspire our young people and help them to grow, thrive and develop. We hope you enjoy reading all about it.

  • National Governors’ Awareness Day.

    Mon 14 Feb 2022

This week our Trust and family of schools would like to say a special thank you to our Members, Trustees and Governors for their hard work throughout the academic year. These colleagues are volunteers who generously dedicate their time to supporting the effective governance of our schools. Governance is not an easy job, and it takes great skill, intelligence and expertise. It is a position of significant responsibility. Governors at all levels offer challenge and support and act as a critical friend to schools and school leaders. Ultimately they are ensuring that all our young people regardless of their background or starting point receive a first class education, coupled with the very best care, guidance and support. They also support us in ensuring we are an employer of choice in our region. We thank all our governors, and our governance clerks for their superb work. We value and appreciate you on this special awareness day on 22nd February 2022, and on every day of the year. Thank you for all that you do.

  • Safer Internet Day.

    Mon 07 Feb 2022

Safer Internet Day is celebrated globally in February each year to promote the safe and positive use of digital technology for children and young people, and to inspire a national conversation about using technology responsibly, respectfully, critically, and creatively. Safer Internet Day 2022 is on 8th February and will be celebrated with the theme ‘All fun and games? Exploring respect and relationships online’. Coordinated in the UK by the UK Safer Internet Centre, Safer Internet Day is celebrated in over a hundred countries coordinated by the joint Insafe/INHOPE network, with the support of the European Commission, and national Safer Internet Centres across Europe.

Our Batley Multi Academy Trust family of schools actively promote the safe use of the internet each and every day, and it can be a great tool to maximise learning when used effectively. This week our schools will be sharing their top tips for internet safety through our assemblies and form time activities. Our schools are also sharing some great resources which are available to parents/carers and families outlining how to ensure the safe use of the internet at home. For example, the guide to “A Digital World for Everyone” produced by the National Online Safety team and free to download. https://nationalonlinesafety.com. Every month our Trust wide newsletter “the Batley Buzz” also features key resources for online safety that families may find useful. Please see our Trust website for further details. Safety comes first.
