The Trust at the heart of the Batley community

Always Remember

On Friday 11 November our family of schools paid their respects to all those who have fallen in the line of duty, and all those families who have lost their loved ones. Our schools held special remembrance assemblies and a two minute silence at 11am as a time for reflection.

Remembrance Day is observed to mark the end of the First World War when hostilities ended with the armistice signed at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month in 1918.

Children from Healey School made their own wreath and attended a special memorial event at the Cenotaph in Batley on Friday, with people from across our community, local councillors and our local MP. Up and down the country, and across the world, people remember all those who have suffered and made such huge sacrifices for us to enjoy the freedoms we have today.
