Batley Multi Academy Trust

The Trust at the heart of the Batley community

Ethical Leadership

Over the past two years our Trust family of schools has worked hard to produce the Batley Ethical Leadership Charter, and the Batley Workload Charter. These have been written for the staff, by the staff, and are shared across our whole organisation. Everyone in our Trust family of schools, including our Members, Trustees and Governors, adheres to these ways of working, and we all do this because it really matters. They are our modus operandi.

We are a Trust built on a culture of mutual respect and it is imperative we develop, foster and nurture that culture each and every day, in every area of our work. I was therefore delighted to be invited, as a Fellow of the Chartered College, to attend an event at the House of Lords last week to launch The Chartered College of Teaching's Framework for Ethical Leadership in Education.

The Chartered College is superb at raising the profile of our profession and developing evidence-informed practice in every area of our work. If you haven't read it yet, take a look at their Teacher Professionalism work: what it means, why it matters and how we support it. We offer all our staff membership of the Chartered College which under the excellent leadership of Dame Alison Peacock, offers great CPD, training and qualifications.

There is no other profession in the world that is more rewarding than ours, and all our young people deserve great staff, which means teachers and associate staff, to help them be the best version of themselves each and every day.
