The Batley Buzz was evident on Friday evening when young people and staff from across our family of schools were invited, by Musica Kirklees, to form a multi academy trust choir and open the special community activities for the annual Batley Christmas lights switch on, outside Batley Town Hall. Young people from Batley Girls' High School, Batley Grammar School, Field Lane Junior, Infant & Nursery School and Upper Batley High School took centre stage and performed a series of festive songs to launch the evening's activities. 

Our young people were superb and helped to generate a fantastic atmosphere, with so many proud parents/carers, aunties/uncles, grandmas/grandads and teachers filling the town square to see them. It is always wonderful to bring our community together and celebrate our rich cultural history and diversity. There was even a visit from Santa Claus himself! It really was a wonderfully festive evening that everyone enjoyed.
