Although I wouldn't usually share a blog during the school holiday period, these are not usual times. We wanted to congratulate the Lionesses on their superb victory last night. This team has performed brilliantly throughout the tournament and are such great role models for young people, especially for young women. The staff team behind them also deserve huge amounts of praise for all of the hard work that goes on behind the scenes to help ensure the players success. Much magic happens behind the scenes! Well done to Sarina Wiegman, a brilliant manager and another great role model for successful female leadership. This team has given our country such a positive boost and are truly brilliant role models for girls' football. Football is an intrinsic part of our nation's culture and history and for many years women and girls were excluded. In this tournament we were proud to see women commentating, women officiating, women leading and coaching, women in the stands and women playing superbly well. Football has come home - well done ladies!  Who knows, maybe our family of schools has some of the country's next great female players? Exciting times ahead.
