The Trust at the heart of the Batley community

Safer Internet Day.

Safer Internet Day is celebrated globally in February each year to promote the safe and positive use of digital technology for children and young people, and to inspire a national conversation about using technology responsibly, respectfully, critically, and creatively. Safer Internet Day 2022 is on 8th February and will be celebrated with the theme ‘All fun and games? Exploring respect and relationships online’. Coordinated in the UK by the UK Safer Internet Centre, Safer Internet Day is celebrated in over a hundred countries coordinated by the joint Insafe/INHOPE network, with the support of the European Commission, and national Safer Internet Centres across Europe.

Our Batley Multi Academy Trust family of schools actively promote the safe use of the internet each and every day, and it can be a great tool to maximise learning when used effectively. This week our schools will be sharing their top tips for internet safety through our assemblies and form time activities. Our schools are also sharing some great resources which are available to parents/carers and families outlining how to ensure the safe use of the internet at home. For example, the guide to “A Digital World for Everyone” produced by the National Online Safety team and free to download. Every month our Trust wide newsletter “the Batley Buzz” also features key resources for online safety that families may find useful. Please see our Trust website for further details. Safety comes first.
