  • Batley Breakfasts

    Mon 27 Feb 2023

Last week our Members, Trustees, Governors and Headteachers visited the fantastic Manorfield Infant and Nursery School for this half term's Batley Breakfast. These events provide a superb opportunity, for leaders from across the Trust to get together every half term and visit all the different schools in our Trust family. They meet with the Headteacher to hear how their vision for school improvement aligns with the Trust's vision and values, and there is a tour of the school, which provides the opportunity to meet the staff and young people, and see the school in action.

Manorfield Infant and Nursery School is a fantastic school, and the most recent addition to our Trust family. The school is being transformed under the excellent leadership of the new Headteacher Kim Bradshaw. She, together with her brilliant team, are ensuring every young person, regardless of their background or starting point, receives a great education coupled with high-quality care, guidance and support. Kim and her team are ambitious for what their young people can achieve, and they are unequivocal in their focus to provide all young people with the very best start in life; as that is what they all deserve.

Batley truly is all about beds, biscuits and brilliant education.

  • Northern Skills Conference

    Mon 20 Feb 2023

We were delighted to be invited to the Northern Skills Conference, as part of National Apprenticeship Week 2023, which myself and one of our primary Headteachers attended. We met Lord Blunkett, Kim Leadbeater MP and leaders from northern businesses, colleges and universities to talk about the employability skills young people need to be successful in life, and how collaboration across all sectors can nurture, develop and enhance these skills.

A great education is paramount to our young people's future success, and this begins in early years. Investing in our young people from birth and fostering a pathway to lifelong learning aids every young person to lead a happy, healthy, successful and fulfilling life, which enables them to play a positive role in our community and in society as a whole. Early years education provides the fundamental building blocks for learning and assisting young people to be the very best version of themselves each and every day.

Our family of schools ensures all our young people receive a high quality education, coupled with first class care, guidance and support. Our children deserve the best, and our schools are proud of their excellent careers education, which sets our young people up to succeed.

  • National Apprenticeships Week

    Mon 06 Feb 2023

This week is National Apprenticeship Week (6 to 12 February 2023) and our Trust family of schools are all sharing information about the wide range of exciting opportunities available to our staff and young people through the apprenticeship route.

This week provides the perfect opportunity for the education and skills sector to celebrate the achievements of apprentices around the country and the positive impact they make to our schools, our community, our local businesses, and the wider economy.

We have some outstanding members of staff who qualified via the apprenticeship route, and are now doing a terrific job in our school teams, to benefit all our young people. We also have a number of young people who left school with excellent GCSE and/or A Level grades, and followed the apprentice route for superb career opportunities.

This week has something for everyone, and across the country people will be sharing stories about their own journeys and experiences, and explaining why apprenticeships provide 'Skills for Life'.
