The Trust at the heart of the Batley community
CEO Blog
In keeping with our creativity theme from last week where our family of schools are currently busy making their Bunting from Batley as part of National Thank You Day (5th June), Batley Girls' High School are also showcasing this truly wonderful piece of art work.
Lucy Swierczynski, Head of Art and Design worked with students and local artist Tom Wood on this creation. The project has been months in the making and this truly amazing mural is now on display on the side of Redbrick Mill in Batley. Creative Scene and the brilliant Amy Foster have worked closely with the school and the artists to coordinate this superb piece of work. Please take a look the next time you're passing and recognise the staff and students at Batley Girls' who worked so hard on this project.
The Eden project are partners in this national event and have come up with some great tips on how to make the bunting. Simply click on the link below.

Life is full of challenges and all you can ever do is your very best. Of all of the young people who have ever taken their SATs none of them have ever done so following such times of turbulence. Staff teams have never had to prepare young people in the way they have this year. TEAM: Together Everyone Achieves More.
Our staff teams have all worked incredibly hard to prepare our young people for the SATs examinations, and the collective support across the whole team has been wonderful. As the African proverb states “It takes a village to raise a child” and the success of our young people rests not only with Year 6 teachers, but with the whole community. Colleagues who keep our schools open, clean, tidy and safe; colleagues who feed our young people; colleagues who offer support, guidance, intervention or tuition; colleagues who teach and lead; colleagues in our office and business teams and parents/carers. Everyone plays a huge role in ensuring the success of our young people in SATs and in life skills, in always being the best version of themselves. To all our Year 6 learners: You've got this, this is your time to shine!
This week we hope everyone in our community enjoyed the longer weekend and the Bank Holiday. What a great time to spend with family and friends. We wish everyone celebrating Eid, Eid Mubarak and good health, peace and happiness.
We have some exciting developments across our Trust family of schools this week, with Aspens now providing the catering in our three secondary schools. The feedback to date has been extremely positive, with our young people loving the meals as well as the new variety and quality on offer. Aspens are committed to quality and their approach to food sourcing focuses on sustainability, seasonality and provenance. Their extensive selection of menus focus on health and wellbeing to ensure our schools teams are well fuelled for educational success.
Young people across our schools have been busy planting the trees that have been very kindly donated to mark the Queen's Platinum Jubilee this year.
There are so many varied and truly fantastic learning activities taking place across our family of schools and our community. Please take a look at our April edition of the Batley Buzz and we hope you enjoy reading all about the great learning taking place in our wonderful schools.
